Arsenal and Bournemouth eye key signings in January transfer window

Arsenal are looking to bolster their attacking options ahead of the January transfer window. The Gunners are in ongoing discussions with Shakhtar Donetsk regarding winger Mykhailo Mudryk, who is valued at £85 million. Arsenal's initial offer of around £55 million was rejected, and negotiations continue over the payment structure.

With Arsenal currently seven points clear at the top of the Premier League, the club sees this as an opportunity to enhance their title challenge. Arteta emphasised the importance of making the right signings to elevate the team. While Mudryk is a primary target, there is also a pressing need for an out-and-out striker following Jesus's injury, leaving Eddie Nketiah as the only available option in that position.

Bournemouth, under new ownership, is preparing for an active January transfer window. New owner Bill Foley has indicated that there will be no budget constraints and that the club aims to add four to five players. The focus will be on strengthening midfield, attacking wide areas, and adding defensive cover, particularly at left-back and left centre-back. The club's new direction aims to improve their squad significantly after a challenging start to the season.

Brentford, currently in 10th place, is also eyeing reinforcements, particularly in the striking department. With Ivan Toney facing potential disciplinary issues and a recent injury, the Bees are keen to secure a striker with Premier League experience. The club had a successful summer transfer window, but the upcoming window presents a new challenge as they look to maintain their strong position in the league.
