The Scottish Premiership is set for an exciting weekend as teams prepare for the international break. Martin O'Neill's Celtic aims to maintain their position at the top of the table, needing a victory to build on their recent Europa League success against Besiktas. Despite being four points clear, the Hoops have only managed one point from their last two league matches, creating pressure as Rangers close in behind them without the distraction of European commitments.
Derek McInnes leads his Rangers side into a crucial match against St Mirren, seeking to narrow the gap to Celtic. Rangers are currently unbeaten in the league since mid-August and can reduce the deficit to just one point with a win. St Mirren, however, has struggled lately, winning only one of their last eight league games, and they will need to improve to challenge a Rangers side that has beaten them four times in a row across all competitions this season.
Hibernian's Marink Reedijk is looking to build on his team's League Cup semi-final victory over Hearts as they face Aberdeen, who are also in desperate need of points. Hibs sit at the bottom of the Premiership and have only managed one point from four league games under Reedijk. Meanwhile, Aberdeen's recent form has not been encouraging, with only one win in their last five league matches, putting pressure on manager Stephen Robinson.
Motherwell aims to continue their resurgence after ending a winless streak last weekend. They face a challenging away match against Dundee United, who are unbeaten in their last six league games. St Johnstone will also be seeking their first league win in five when they host Dundee. Finally, Hearts, depleted from recent fixtures, will look to bounce back against in-form Falkirk, who are eager to overtake them in the standings.
