Hamza Choudhury's shirt from Leicester City's FA Cup final victory against Chelsea will be auctioned for charity later this month. The framed shirt is part of a fundraiser for the Children Not Numbers charity, aimed at supporting children affected by the conflict in Gaza. The event is organised by Nujum Sports, a body that represents Muslim athletes, and will take place in London on October 25.
Choudhury recently left Leicester City after a 21-year association to join Sheffield United. He has been active at the ASEAN Cup, where Fulham's Farhaan Ali Wahid made his international debut, becoming only the second Premier League player to represent Bangladesh. Wahid scored on his second appearance for Bangladesh during a match against Indonesia.
In other international news, Oxford City winger Dillon De Silva scored twice for Sri Lanka in a double-header against Seychelles, contributing to a 3-0 victory and a subsequent 2-0 win. Meanwhile, Zidane Iqbal has received support from fellow players Mal Benning and Kam Kandola after facing verbal and online abuse while on international duty with Iraq.
Benning and Kandola expressed their solidarity with Iqbal, highlighting the importance of standing together as a community. Iqbal was unable to accept his Men's Player award at the Asian Football Awards due to the abuse he faced. The awards also recognised Mariam Mahmood as the Women's Player of the Year and Layla Banaras as the Women's Young Player of the Year.
Dilan Markanday recently scored a stunning goal for Chesterfield, reminiscent of his early days at Tottenham Hotspur. He reflected on the joy of scoring and the importance of playing without fear. Markanday aims to continue enjoying his football and scoring goals, embracing the carefree spirit he had as a child. He is looking forward to upcoming matches with Chesterfield.
