Manchester United secured a vital 1-0 victory over Liverpool, continuing their resurgence under new manager Eva Olid. Julia Zigiotti scored the decisive goal early in the match, capitalising on a poor clearance from Liverpool's goalkeeper Khiara Keating. This win marks United's second consecutive victory, bringing their total points to seven from the last three matches after a challenging start to the season.

Zigiotti's chip from just outside the area came within six minutes of the kick-off, setting the tone for the match. United aimed to begin quickly, and their strategy paid off as they took the lead early on. Although they could have extended their advantage, they were ultimately able to hold on to their narrow lead against a Liverpool side that has been performing well this season.

Liverpool, enjoying their best start to a WSL campaign in nearly a decade, pushed United throughout the match. The visitors came close to equalising when Beata Olsson hit the woodwork, and they had another opportunity when Cornelia Kapocs's rebound fell to Olsson, but her finish was saved by United's Phallon Tullis-Joyce, who made a remarkable double save.

United remained a threat, with Jess Park nearly doubling their lead just before half-time, only to see her shot hit the crossbar. Liverpool responded with their own attempts but failed to find the back of the net. This match not only secured United their first back-to-back wins since February but also levelled them on points with Liverpool as they head into the international break.
