Manchester City won three Premier League titles during financial breaches

Carragher expressed his belief that these trophies should be stripped from the club, although he remains uncertain whether they should be awarded to the teams that finished second in those competitions. He emphasised that the emotional experience of winning is what has been taken from players and fans due to City’s actions.

Carragher articulated that the impact of the situation extends beyond titles and medals, noting that players will forever associate their achievements with the controversy surrounding the club. He stated that the feeling of winning, which is central to a player's career, has been diminished for those involved. While Carragher anticipates that Manchester City will face punishment, he insists that the owners must also be held accountable. He expressed doubt about how the current ownership can remain in English football following the findings of the investigation.
