Jackson extended Villa's lead to 2-0, finishing powerfully after a duel with Van de Ven. Buendia then sealed the victory with a stunning strike from 25 yards out, prompting jubilant celebrations from the visiting fans, who chanted their support. Spurs' struggles were evident as they have now only won five of their last 36 matches at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Tottenham finally found the back of the net late in the game, with Conor Gallagher scoring their first goal of the season, followed by a header from Jan Paul van Hecke.
