Wales manager Craig Bellamy has named a 26-man squad for the upcoming UEFA Nations League matches against Norway and Portugal. The team currently sits third in Group A4, having previously defeated Norway but also suffered two losses to Denmark and one to Portugal. The matches are crucial as Wales aims to secure a top-two finish to advance to the quarter-finals.
The Dragons will first face Norway in Oslo on November 14, followed by a home match against Portugal at Cardiff City Stadium on November 17. The squad sees the return of several players, including Harry Wilson and Joe Rodon, who missed the previous camp due to injuries. Wilson withdrew with a quadricep issue, while Rodon has recovered from a hamstring injury sustained earlier in the season.
In addition to Wilson and Rodon, Manchester United goalkeeper Karl Darlow rejoins the squad, and U21 goalkeeper Joe Duncan receives his first senior call-up. Rubin Colwill from Cardiff City is also back in the fold after a year, and Kai Andrews, currently on loan at Oxford from Coventry, returns after a long absence since June.
Wales' path to the quarter-finals hinges on their performance in these matches. A top-two finish will secure their progression, while a third-place finish could lead to a relegation play-off against a League B team. If they finish at the bottom of their group, they will face either a relegation play-off or direct relegation, making these fixtures critical for the team.
