West Ham United halted Swansea City's impressive four-match winning streak with a narrow 1-0 victory at the Swansea.com Stadium. Divine Mukasa's first-half goal secured the win, which brought West Ham closer to the top of the Sky Bet Championship, reducing the gap to just one point. This result marked Swansea's first home defeat since April, ending their strong start to the season, which included seven wins and two draws from their first ten matches.

The match saw a record attendance of 20,973, highlighting the significance of the clash between the two teams. While West Ham had recently enjoyed a dominant 6-0 win over Lincoln, this encounter proved to be a more tactical battle. The Hammers' boss, Nuno Espirito Santo, appreciated the importance of the win, which elevated his side to second place in the league, above Middlesbrough on goal difference.

Swansea had previously boasted the tightest defence in the Championship, but they struggled to contain West Ham's attacking threats. The game's only goal came after 34 minutes when Mukasa finished calmly after being set up by Mohamadou Kante. Despite the setback, Swansea responded with several attempts, including a shot from Ben Cabango that struck the crossbar, but they could not find an equaliser.

In the second half, West Ham looked to extend their lead with Jarrod Bowen testing Swansea's goalkeeper, Lawrence Vigouroux. Swansea fought back, creating chances but failing to convert, as they struggled to find the finishing touch. The match remained tense until the final whistle, with both teams having opportunities to score, but ultimately, West Ham held on for the crucial three points.
