Middlesbrough staged a remarkable second-half comeback to secure a 2-2 draw against Cardiff City at the Riverside Stadium. The Bluebirds shocked the home side by taking a 2-0 lead into half-time, thanks to goals from Jack Moylan and Ollie Tanner. Despite being down, Boro showed resilience as they fought back after the break, with their top scorer Will Lankshear playing a pivotal role in the revival.

Lankshear, who was rested for the first half, was brought on at half-time by manager Kim Hellberg. His introduction proved crucial as he helped Middlesbrough level the match within 16 minutes. Tommy Conway scored first to reduce the deficit, followed shortly by Lankshear, who netted his 11th goal of the season with a well-placed shot from the edge of the box.

Cardiff's situation worsened when Gabriel Osho received a straight red card for a reckless challenge on Lankshear with just seven minutes remaining. Despite being a man down, the Bluebirds managed to hold on for a draw, denying Boro the chance to claim all three points. Middlesbrough extended their unbeaten run to nine league matches with this result.

The match began with Boro creating early chances but failing to convert. They were punished when Cardiff took the lead midway through the first half, with Moylan's low drive finding the back of the net. Tanner then doubled the visitors' advantage just before the break, capitalising on a counter-attack after a Boro corner.

Middlesbrough's performance in the second half showcased their determination to fight back. The introduction of Lankshear and Berhalter revitalised the team, leading to a spirited response. However, despite their efforts and the numerical advantage, Boro could not find a winner before the final whistle, leaving both teams with a point each.
