Brentford managed to secure a 1-1 draw against Hull City at the MKM Stadium, thanks to a goal from Dango Ouattara that levelled the match after Oli McBurnie's penalty had given Hull the lead. The draw extended Hull's winless streak in the Premier League to six matches, leaving them still searching for their first league victory of the season. McBurnie's penalty marked his first goal in the Premier League this season.
Hull City took the lead in the 25th minute when McBurnie converted a penalty awarded after a foul on Tim Iroegbunam. The incident occurred following a poor pass from Brentford goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher, which put Aaron Hickey in a difficult position. Despite Hull's strong first-half performance, they were unable to convert their dominance into more goals, with a second penalty appeal turned down by the referee.
Brentford improved in the second half and found an equaliser in the 63rd minute through Ouattara. Igor Thiago played a crucial role in keeping the ball alive in the box before assisting Ouattara, who scored from close range. Following the goal, Brentford's confidence surged, with substitutes Mikkel Damsgaard and Aaron Anthony providing fresh energy to their attack.
Both teams had chances to claim all three points in the closing stages of the match. Hull's goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis made a vital save to deny Mohamed-Ali Cho, while Joe Gelhardt missed a late opportunity for the visitors after a good setup from Cho. The match ended with both teams sharing the spoils, leaving Hull in 10th place and Brentford in 6th in the Premier League standings.
