Vincent Kompany, the head coach of Bayern Munich, has been discharged from hospital following a collapse during training last week. The incident was attributed to a meningeal irritation, according to Max Eberl, a board member for sports at the club. Kompany collapsed at Bayern's training ground while overseeing a second-team session and was subsequently taken to hospital for treatment.

Despite missing media duties ahead of Bayern's Champions League match against Arsenal due to a viral infection, Kompany returned to the dugout for the team's 2-2 draw. Eberl expressed relief at Kompany's discharge, stating that it was the best news for everyone involved. He confirmed that Kompany would now focus on resting and taking medication to aid his recovery.

No specific timeline has been set for Kompany's return to coaching duties. Eberl indicated that he would only resume his role after receiving medical clearance. Assistant coach Aaron Danks echoed this sentiment, noting that while the situation is positive, there is still no defined schedule for Kompany's comeback.

Danks has stepped in to manage the team during Kompany's absence, leading them to a 3-1 victory over Freiburg. Bayern Munich, currently at the top of the Bundesliga, is preparing to face title rivals Borussia Dortmund next. The focus remains on Kompany's health, with the club prioritising his full recovery before he returns to the touchline.
